How Riya Kapoor Went from Fresh Face to Fashion Powerhouse

Jun2025

Riya Kapoor, the radiant new face from TOABH’s elite division, recently lit up the sets of Lakmé India’s Summer 2025 campaign. With her sharp gaze and fluid confidence, Riya brought fresh energy to the lens — capturing not just a product, but a whole new attitude.

The Campaign Vision

Shot over two days at a Mumbai studio, the campaign focused on themes of bare-skin confidence, summer light, and authentic femininity. Directed by Ishita Raj, the shoot brought together a power team of stylists, cinematographers, and makeup artists from TOABH’s creative circle. The first day of the shoot was all soft pastels, wet hair, and mirror reflections. The second day? Think dewy skin, high ponytails, and bold eyeshadow — a complete mood switch that Riya owned effortlessly.

At just 22, Riya Kapoor is already booked for two global campaigns and a fashion film collaboration in Berlin. Signed to TOABH in late 2023, she’s become a favorite for brands looking for authenticity, versatility, and edge. This year’s Lakmé theme revolved around a new narrative: not about beauty, but realness. The creative direction aimed to celebrate bare skin, imperfection, and the kind of glow that comes from owning your identity. The shoot oscillated between editorial minimalism and campaign clarity. In one frame, Riya wore just a skin tint and wet hair slicked back. In another, she pulled off a full glam transformation — complete with neon liner, power poses, and a stare that could stop traffic.

“We didn’t want makeup to hide her,” says director Ishita Raj. “We wanted the camera to see her — the sharp jawline, the soft defiance in her eyes, the way her silence holds the space.”

On Set: Moments That Stayed

What you don’t see in the final cut? Riya laughing between takes, adjusting her own earring mid-shot, offering to help the new assistant find better lighting. She’s a Gen Z star who knows her light — and respects the team behind it. For Lakmé, this shoot wasn’t just about selling a product — it was about launching a feeling. Confidence. Fluidity. The future of South Asian beauty. And Riya, with her ability to go from soft to fierce in a frame, became the perfect muse. She gives us duality,” says TOABH’s senior agent Manasvi Shah. “You get the girl next door. You get the editorial goddess. She doesn’t switch between them — she merges them.

Everyone on set wanted to make something honest. And that made it easier to drop the act and just be me.
